Being an unfortunate freshman who didn’t get housing first semester, I now am moving back home for Christmas break along with the rest of the school. However, I now have housing for second semester! The bad news is it’s going to be like the first day of school again, new classes, meeting you’re room mate, all the jazz, etc. I’m a little bit nervous about that whole thing but we’ll see what happens. Hopefully I’ll like campus more than commuting.
Second Semester!
December 2, 2009I DON’T UNDERSTAND ART
November 15, 2009So, I’m a little late on this post. I was sick the day it was due and just forgot about it since then.
Right now I want to take the time to complain about my art survey class. Its the hardest class I’ve ever had to take. When I noticed it was on my schedule I didn’t think anything of it, I truly thought it was going to be my easiest class. Little did I know, it became my hardest class. I find it really hard to memorize who did what and where and who studied with who. ITS CRAZY! and all the names sound the same to me. I also think its ridiculous how you need two art classes to graduate. I don’t ever plan on using art in the real world, and I don’t see how I’d ever need to know what works of art Hans Holbein created. Art is not relevant to my life and being forced to learn it is a waste of my time. I could be taking another class that I actually have some interest in that could help me at one point in the future.
What’s the Purpose?
October 27, 2009I hate when I look on the Blog Post Schedule and it tells me I have to go find someone’s post to comment on. I usually have a hard time finding something that catches my interest, but this entry I think is quite interesting. This blog mentions that 53 days of my life could be wasted making my bed. Do you find this crazy? I know I do.
Thin about it..What really is the purpose of making your bed in the morning? You’re just going to go sleep in it that night. Why take the time and effort to straighten out the covers when they will be all scrambled the next morning. Personally, I never make my bed. To me, the covers being straightened out doesn’t make me feel more comfortable than it wouuld be if they were every which way. I feel its a waste of time and I would rather sleep for the extra 3 minutes it takes me to make it. Although, I did find myself making my bed when I knew I was going to have company I didn’t know that well, like when had study groups, or a new boyfriend over my house. Holidays were also another exception I made for making my bed, I wanted to impress my family so I would clean my room perfectly which included making my bed. Other than those circumstances I can pretty much guarentee that 100% of the time my bed was not made.
Fortuntely for me, I had come from a family that didn’t pressure me into making my bed, there fore I never got into he happen. My parents never made their bed either so which is probably why I was never told to make it. It was my room and my responsibility.
A Record Breaking Victory
October 20, 2009
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know,” said Tom Brady after realizing he along with the rest of his team have broken and set new records.
Many of different records were broken on Sunday October, 18, 2009. Both team and league records. Prior to this game the Patriots team record for most points per a half was 42, and the 45 point first half on Sunday broke the team record for scoring in a half. Not only is this a team record it is the largest halftime lead in NFL history. This is now a new goal for the Patriots to try to break to keep bettering themselves and sets an example to all other teams. Another NFL record which was broken during that game was five touchdown passes in one quarter, this was done in the second quarter of the game. Brady passes to Randy Moss (2), Wes Welker(2) and Kevin Faulk(1) resulted in the touchdowns that broke this record.
What makes this game that much greater is the condition in which the team had to play in. At Foxborough stadium both teams faced the challenge of playing in the snow. In these conditions, how Brady pulled off 29 of 34 completed passes gaining 380, six touchdowns (this tied Brady’s personal record), and no interceptions is remarkable.
The Titans couldn’t even stop the Patriots when they had a rookie free-agent from Michigan State, Brian Hoyer take over for Brady. He completed 9 passes gaining 52 yards. He also scored a 1 yard touch down for the team.
The game ended with the final score of 59-0. This day will never be forgotten by the New England Patriots, this truly was a memorable game.
Love actually.
October 5, 2009I read on a blog that people today are losing sight of what love truly is. I gave some thought to this and realized it’s true. The real meaning of love is being watered down by phrases like “I love food”, “I love hiking”, and “I love the beach”. This is giving the word less impact as it would if it were only used for things that were actually important enough to love, such as family, your husband/wife, children, etc. How does one know when they truly are in love with someone? The answer is they don’t really know. These days, people at younger ages believe they are in “love” and young adults are beginning to get married before they are truly ready. With that being said, we can all agree that divorce rates have been sky rocketing.
As I previously read, movies and books are trying to maintain the true meaning and portray pure love, to help distinguish the difference between the “I love shoes” love and the “I love you” love. One example is the movie and novel The Notebook. In the movie Ally comes from a rich family and falls in love with a poor male, Noah. Her family at first does not approve of this relationship because of the class differences but since they had irresistible feelings toward each other they maintained their relationship. In life, we all know obstacles arise and an unfortunate event such as moving away occurs. This example happened in the movie. Ally moved away and didn’t see Noah for years. Later in life they found each other and relit the flame they once had.
The meaning of love is nothing more than a word to some people these days. Saying ” I love you” is more of a saying and the true meaning is withering away with each generation. Love is about accepting a person for who they truly are and seeing their significant other as flawless and I still believe the true meaning of love is out there, you just have to find who makes that feeling pertain you.
Kate Plus 8?
September 30, 2009Not only is Kate Gosselin dumping her husband in real life, she is dumping him in reel life. Beginning on November 2, 2009 the series of “Jon and Kate plus 8″ will now be called “Kate plus 8″. Jon will no longer be apart of the show but he will make “Guest Appearances” sporadically.

“Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family. The family has evolved and we are attempting to evolve with it; we feel that Kate’s journey really resonates with our viewers.” said the TLC President Eileen O’Neill about the revision of the show.

Since the break up of the parents of eight children (five year-old sextuplets and 8 year-old twins) it’s not possible for Jon to be in the picture of the television show nearly as much as he was before. This only makes sense to revise the show and focus more on Kate’s interaction with the children rather than the children’s interaction with the both the parents. The show is going to show the difficulties Kate faces as a newly single mother.
Although Jon will not be spending as much time with his children as he did, he is still trying to be a good fatherly figure to his children. This Saturday (September 26, 2009) he attended a volunteer walk in Philadelphia called “Walk Now for Autism Speaks”. He is in high hopes that this will set a good example for his children.
What will Jon be up to during the season of “Kate plus 8″? Well, a source told US Weekly that he is looking for “various projects” one of which being a reality show called “The Divorced Dads Club” which he may be co-starring with Michael Lohan.
